Unriveting

I'm bored. I've been waiting to post until I had something significant and riveting to share, but I don't and I don't want to wait. So... yeah. How bout this weather? Monday it hailed. Today I can't quite distinguish if it's sunny or cloudy. I'm happy for the weekend, busy as usual. I have to keep insanely busy or I just sleep and do nothing. I have nothing to eat today. I packed my lunch and forgot it. Ok, here's something interesting you can go and do your own little research project on: Francesca Woodman. I'd link the article I read on The Nation, but you have to subscribe, and that's just not fair, is it?

My Boring Result

You scored as Kirsten. You are a perfectionist. Be weary of being too rigid and limiting your openness to varied experiences. Neat freaks are just as irrational as slobs. A half messy person is, in fact, the ideal. Optimal evolution (according to the research) is dependent on a sufficient amount of random variation and being overly regimented inhibits variation.

What OC character are you?

I love how some of the options are like "I am from the wrong side of the tracks."

Love is in the Air...

I really do like Valentine's Day, and it's not just because I've been in a relationship since the dawn of time. I am aware of people's "anti-Valentine's" get-togethers and boycotting of the holiday meant for production and consumption. But... I feel like if you genuinely celebrate it, you'll receive sincerity in return. I'm not a particularly sappy person, although I admit I am a Romantic. I have always loved Valentine's Day, even before I was in a relationship. Everyone just seems so happy and kind. I really felt loved, my mother would give each of us a little surprise and school seemed so special. Even now, I think it's something worth celebrating, just making each other feel appreciated... and getting a yummy-ass meal (actually, that sounds kinda gross). Anywho, Happy Valentine's Day to all, may you appreciate who you love and the many people you are loved by.

Fluffius Maryis

Now you too can have a species named after you! And a monkey species at that! The Wildlife Conservation Society is auctioning off the right to name a newly "discovered" monkey in Bolivia. They're super cute and sound strangely duck-like. So... if you have some, or a lot, of cash to spare, go bid for that monkey name!

P.S. Has anyone heard about those giant-sized chimpanzees found in the middle of the unexplored Congo. Some say they are the missing link... weird. Those crazy monkeys! Never-ending excitement.

ReyWhat?

So I had to research this Turkish company for a client. This is the description on the website:

Reysas

While serving for a "complete solution" in international field of logistics as a brand and a leader company, continuously rising our targets in the sector by presenting different service alternatives, special for our customers and evaluating new technological opportunities.
VISION:
Being an international brand of logistic sector and increasing the number of our strategical business partnerships by using qualified and educated manpower, high technological equipments and developed systems.

It sounds like someone from Office Space threw up. Turns out they do shipping.

Why Blog

I’ve been kind of scared of blogs for a while, for many reasons, not the least of which being addiction. I’m afraid I won’t be able to stop once I start. Must… share… every aspect of life on public forum. Also, it’s just another thing to think about doing. But, I’d like to write more often in general, so maybe this will force me. It helps to have an audience. I hope anything I have to say won’t be too boring, as most of it will probably be personal and random. (I guess that’s what blogs are for…)

MAYBE

That was a big maybe, posted over 6 months ago. The post from July 28 was actually written on my livejournal, when I was so bored I created two blogs to see which I liked better. Now, I have come full circle and rather than being unemployed and bored, I am bored at my employer's. I don't know how much I will post, but at least I've called attention to my little corner of the internet... scary.

Monkeys and Cameras...

... that's what I think about when there's not much going on. Like now for instance. I am doing what many folks do when they are unemployed -- start a blog. I don't know if I will be consistent or if this will even work, but I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not the most computer savvy person, so this will be interesting. Maybe I'll update this site with my job search and posts about the many, many changes in my life right now. Thanks for coming by if you are reading this now, hope you like it!
